How we can help support your health?
Podiatrists are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team at Active Health. They use their in-depth knowledge of the lower limb to give insight and intervention strategies for a wide variety of leg, ankle and foot complaints in all ages. Whether it be an intermittent discomfort, sports injury, arthritis or diabetic foot concerns, we understand that everyone has different needs and goals.
Gait and Running Analysis
The Podiatry team use high tech video and computer technology to provide an analysis of your gait and/or running technique. This analysis can identify factors contributing to an injury or affecting your performance. The contributing factors can then be addressed and interventions set in place to fix the problems identified.
Orthotics Design and Shoe Referral
For problems with your feet and lower legs your choice of footwear is a vital component. Sometimes aches and pains can be something as simple as the wrong type of footwear for your chosen activity. There are many and varied options with footwear on the market these days, particularly in the sports and active shoe area. If your condition requires more than a footwear change our podiatrists will design and fit an appropriate orthotic. Our podiatry department are the experts on footwear and orthotic requirements. General Nail and Foot Care
Are you having trouble with your foot or nail care including the common corn, callous and nail care difficulties, or need help with your diabetic foot health. The podiatrists at Active Health can help to identify the problem and carry out appropriate treatment. This includes general nail care and extends to nail surgery to when required, our podiatrists are qualified in it all. Call us at 03 363 6290 to book.
Laser Fungal Nail Treatment
Fungal nail infections are complex to treat. The Pin Pointe Nail Laser provides an alternative to prescribed topical or oral antifungal medication which may need to be used for many months and in some individuals may cause serious side effects. The Pin Pointe Laser is targeted locally on the fungal infection, killing the fungus throughout the nail, allowing the nail time to grow back naturally. For more information on this treatment click here.
Do I need a referral?
You do not need a referral to see one of our Podiatrists and we can generate ACC claims if applicable. We work collaboratively with all health professionals but do have a range of in-house services and practitioners we work closely with. This allows us to get you your desired outcome faster and more conveniently by providing back-to-back and joint consultations if and when required.
We can offer you ACC appointments and subsidised orthotics via ACC if your injuries meet the criteria outlined by ACC. We regularly see a wide range of lower limb injuries at various ages and stages of life. From sprains and strains to running-related injuries and post-operative care.
